On the same day as the women’s march in Oakland, workers at the Boot and Shoe Restaurant just a mile or so away walked off the job. They were linking up their own work-place struggle with the women’s march. In their case, the restaurant owner – Charlie Hallowell – had been revealed to have a long history of sexual harassment of his female workers. Enough is enough, these workers were saying. As we point out in the video, you cannot really fight for workers’ rights without fighting for women’s rights, or the rights of people of color, or of any other especially oppressed group. It all goes together.
