Watching the crowd video at the end reminded me of why I prefer to go to these No Kings demos over the hill in Concord, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, etc. Funnier, more creative signs, more upbeat, less monotonous “the people united will never split a pizza!” chants. Plus, they are frequently actually bigger than these things have been in my home town, Oakland seems oddly disconnected compared to the huge marches we hosted during Trump 1.0. (like the not-just Women’s March, which was many times as large as any of the current wave of protests here). That said, I went to this one here and saw John there.
