I always feel that some of the most important photos are of the signs that people carry, especially the self-made ones. Here are a few:
This and similar signs, though, were provided by Local 10. They refer to the move by the Oakland A’s to take over a chunk of the Port to build a ball park and related use. This threatens the survival of the Port and all the jobs that go with it. This move comes after they tried to take over some land of the Peralta Community College District. That attempt would have destroyed the iconic Laney Community College. See this article for more.
