Here are some photos plus a short video of the “No Kings” protest in Oakland yesterday. I mix in photos that give an idea of crowd size (estimated at 10,000) with photos of the signs people made. These signs give an idea of the thinking of protesters. A more thorough analysis of the events of June 14 is coming. This will also include those protests nationally as well as Trump’s military parade, the shootings in Minnesota and other terrorist attacks plus where we go from here.

This was the sign I made.

Nice photo & video display, John. There were about 5,000 at the largest event in Detroit and about the same number or more in Ann Arbor. There were also thousands at events in Lansing and Grand Rapids. One small town in Michigan, population 800, had a rally of 400! In Ann Arbor, a big issue was abortion rights. In Detroit, a big issue was Palestine, the genocide in Gaza, and the suppression of student protests at local universities. Overall, of course, the big issue was immigrant rights. ICE agents have been active lately at immigration court hearings in Detroit.
