Brian Thompson assassination: Official figures are shocked at reaction

The official figures, liberals and conservatives alike, are shocked – shocked I tell you! – at the reaction to the assassination of Brian Thompson. (My personal favorite is “why all this hoopla over a victimless crime?”)

I have a reliable source who told me that NYC detectives are really not trying very hard to find the perp. Not only that, but at a meeting of FBI agents who were working on the case, the head guy said that they have a track on who might have done it and the agents themselves started booing! Then they started chanting, “we don’t care. We don’t care,” and the agent in charge had to silence them.

I would not be repeating this if I did not believe my source is reliable.

So, that leads to another question: Even if they make an arrest, and even if they have solid evidence, will they be able to get a conviction? One thing can be guaranteed: If somebody comes to trial and sets up a Gofundme for his legal expenses, it will break all records for the amount received. Some 45 years ago I read an article in the WSJ (I wish I’d saved it) that reported that in NYC’s South Bronx it was impossible to get a jury to rule against a poor person of any race in any case where the other person was wealthy.

And another question: The mass shooters largely are motivated by the desire to make a name for themselves. Now, anybody who is inclined in that direction will see, “wow, this guy shot a CEO and he’s, like, a hero…” You get my drift? Corporate America does, as CNN is reporting that corporations are scrubbing their web sites of all photos of their CEOs.

The reaction (“why all the hoopla over a victimless crime?”) shows why the Democratic left can never develop a youtuber like Joe Rogan or his type. Rogan & Co. are completely irreverent and don’t mind breaking all the norms. The Democrats, even the Bernie Sanders ones, must stay within the norms. They feel obligated to send our condolences to Thompson’s family and all that other tripe. But it is exactly this reaction that shows the crying anti-corporate thirst and the disrespect for “the rule of law” to which they cannot appeal.

Finally, once again we see the criminal negligence (to put it mildly) of the entire union leadership, all wings of it including the “progressives” like Sean Fain who are oh-so-proper and appropriate and are also determined to keep the unions within the bounds of “the rule of law”.

For the record: no, I am not advocating such actions as what was done to Brian Thompson.

  1. We all sympathize with the class hatred of this self-help assassin. We need to use this case to organize effective class struggle to resist and overcome the regime of exploitation.

    • Unfortunately “we” are too weak to organize anything serious, if by “we” you mean working class oriented socialists. That is why I think that if there is a movement against US capitalist exploitation and repression it will arise from below in a semi-spontaneous, confused and chaotic way.
