To those who fight for liberation the world over:

UNITE AGAINST GENOCIDE & BUILD A GLOBAL LIBERATION MOVEMENT

As we write this, Israel is taking the first steps towards carrying its genocidal war into Rafah by ordering an evacuation. But as one resident said “there’s nowhere [else] to go.” Israel has stepped up its drive to starve the people of Gaza to death by closing the Rafah border crossing, a key route for aid to enter Gaza. Israel’s ethnic cleansing won’t stop in Gaza. Land theft and assaults in the West Bank by Israel-approved settlers have accelerated. According to Amira Hass, there were 108 settler assaults recorded in January, 145 in February, and many unrecorded settler assaults and thefts. Oppression against Palestinians and their supporters inside Israel has also increased.

Israel is committing war crimes and there must be consequences. All involved should be charged as war criminals at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

People around the world stand with Palestinians and oppose Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. In America, the Palestinian solidarity movement is predominantly playing out on university campuses right now. Defenders of Israel have tried to crush this encampment movement:

  • At UCLA, Zionist/fascists assaulted pro Palestine protesters using clubs, pipes, and professional grade fireworks.
  • At Columbia University, the NYPD kettled and isolated the student protest encampment from the outside world and then arrested students.
  • Police arrested protesters at Emory University in Atlanta GA and University of Texas, Austin and George Washington University in Washington, DC.
  • There are over 120 campus protests; everywhere Zionism-friendly media and politicians are libeling the protesters as being anti-Semitic despite the thousands of anti-Zionist Jews who are participating in the protests, and in multiple instances leading Seder or Shabbat meals for the group

None of the state or private security efforts to crush the pro-Palestine protests will succeed. The student-led encampments and protests are principled overall and can only help open the way for a wider, global struggle for liberation and justice. A victory for the movement to Free Palestine will be a victory for all liberation struggles.

We urge all liberation supporters to:

  • Join together to Free Palestine and stop Israel’s genocide and apartheid.
  • Build opposition to Israel’s genocide by uniting the struggles for liberation around the world.
  • Unite the global fight against the rise of fascism and far right nationalist bigotry and authoritarianism.
  • Expand our calls for justice and liberation from the university campuses to calling on the unions for their support. Start with unions on the college campuses!
  • Call for a complete shutdown of the transportation industry to halt the shipment of arms to Israel, via this expanded student and labor movement. The unions have the power to organize this — but it must come from an organized movement of the rank and file.
  • Demand a complete end of all U.S. arms to Israel and send them instead to Ukrainians, who like Palestinians are facing an imperialist and genocidal attack.

The movement to Free Palestine is part of a world liberation movement. The movement for a Free Palestine will only be strengthened by linking up with the power of other global liberation struggles, in Syria, Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar/Burma, Xinjiang, Haiti, Congo, Iran, Kashmir, America and the world over.

We urge all liberation fighters: sign on to and help circulate this statement.

Join together.

From Palestine, Syria, Ukraine, Myanmar, Iran, Sudan, Xinjiang, Haiti, Kashmir, Congo to the United States and the world over:

UNITE THE STRUGGLES!

The US and worldwide student encampments and protests, the “uncomitted” movement in the Democratic primary, the opposition of House Democrats, and the work of several nations to bring the question of genocide to the UN are important steps in the fight against genocide and for humanity. “As a PanAfricanist anti-imperialist, for me it is essential we see the imperialist expansionist regimes of Russia and China – as well of the US, Canada, Japan and Europe – for what they are. We of all people should understand what colonisation, genocide and loss of sovereignty over our land and resources means. We also know from ongoing wars in DR Congo, Sudan, Libya, Ethiopia/Eritrea; just how complicit African rulers are with the imperialist powers looting our continent’s resources at the expense of millions of African lives. These powers are intent on colonising the resources and peoples of Africa for their own imperialist ends. Putin is not our friend and the African military dictatorships that have seized power in West Central Africa – shifting allegiance towards Russia and China – will sell-out their peoples by enriching themselves – just as African military dictators always have done. It’s the curse of neocolonialism but this time in hoc to Russian militarism and Chinese resource expansionism. A United Pan African socialism requires truly independent workers’ action for genuine self-determination. So Africans must side with the oppressed not the oppressor – From Ukraine to Palestine – Occupation is a Crime! From Palestine to Ukraine – Occupiers Have No Claim!”
