Sophie Scholl

Sophie Scholl

“How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause? Such a fine sunny day, and I have to go, but what does my death matter, if through us thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action?”

These were the last words of Sophie Scholl as she was about to be executed by the Nazis for distributing anti-Nazi propaganda. She was all of 21 years old. This week marks the 74 anniversary of her murder.

It’s something to think that she might still be living today. However, she may be gone, but not forgotten.
